Publikace představuje dílo biskupa jednoty bratrské Jana Blahoslava (1521-1571), který z řeckého jazyka přeložil a v letech 1564 a 1568 nechal v Ivančicích vytisknout Nový zákon. Je zaměřena na celkový kontext tohoto překladu, zkoumá Blahoslavův vztah k biblickému humanismu (zejména k dílu Erasma Rotterdamského) a užité dobové předlohy.

The publication introduces the work of Bohemian Brethren bishop Jan Blahoslav (1521-1571), who translated from the Greek and in 1564 and 1568 published in the brethren printing house in Ivančice the New Testament. The study concentrates on a general context of this translation, analyses the Blahoslavʼs relation to the biblical humanism (especially to the work of Erasmus of Rotterdam) and the used contemporary editions of the New Testament.
