Autor vykládá pravděpodobný vznik Patočkova záměru podat filosofii dějin Evropy a sleduje vývoj jeho filosofického zkoumání na toto téma od konce šedesátých let až do jeho smrti v roce 1977. V závěru svého pojednání se autor rovněž pokusil o vlastní hodnotící interpretaci soudobých dějinných trendů.
Author of the paper explains how Patočka took up the intention to outline a philosophy of European history and follows the development of his philosophical inquiry on this topic from the end of 1960s until his death in 1977. In the end of the paper the author made attempt at his own avaluating interpretation of the contemporary historical trends.
