Questions of Bartholomew originated most likely in the third or fourth century in Greek, and later it was translated into Latin and Old Church Slavonic. This study presents comprehensive textological and lexical analyses of the six extant Slavonic manuscripts, determines the most likely place and time of the creation of the original translation into Slavonic, and outlines the possible ways in which the manuscripts spread throughout the Slavonic environment. The study is accompanied by comprehensive material consisting of the line-by-line edition of all of the preserved manuscripts, new transcriptions of the Slavonic manuscripts and the thus far unknown Greek manuscript XI. 024 (coll. 1293), and the Old Church Slavonic–Greek and Greek–Old Church Slavonic indices verborum.
