The introductory study discusses in its first part attempts to assemble and publish Comenius’s correspondence starting with the 18th century until the end of the 20th century. Then it analyses the corpus of extant Comenius’s letters as a whole and particularly those preserved from the period 1628-1638 which is covered by the current volume. Next part focuses on the detailed information on the manuscript and printed sources and summarizes editorial principles of the volume.
