    The chapter outlines the history of school catering in Czechoslovakia from the beginning of the 1950s to the end of the 1970s. Emphasis is placed on the role of scientists in shaping the concept of school meals. At the same time, the chapter is devoted to school canteens as places of memory for the period 1948–1989 and to the perception of school meals by witnesses.
