We have successfully spin-coated the As3S7:Er3+ thin films using a two-step solution-based process by (1) dissolving the As3S7 chalcogenide glass with propylamine (PA) and (2) further adding the tris (8-hydroquinoline) erbium complex (ErQ) as an Er3+ precursor. Solution-processed rare-earth doped chalcogenide films utilizing the organo-lanthanide precursors are promising candidates for low-cost and low temperature production of efficient PL materials in photonics and optoelectronics.
