Téma LŠKS bylo zvoleno nejen s ohledem na 600. výročí narození Karla IV., ale také s cílem přiblížit téma z různých pohledů a interdisciplinárně. Využili jsme proto především spolupráce s několika ústavy AV ČR a také s několika pracovníky z vysokých škol. Témata pokrývala zejména kulturněhistorický kontext Karlovy vlády. Posluchači měli také v dopoledních dílnách možnost si několik témat „osahat“ na práci s texty a audiovizuálními materiály a proniknout tak do kulturního, uměleckého i politického prostředí 14. století.

The theme of the Summer School was chosen not only with regard to the 600th anniversary of Charles’ IV birth but also with the aim of interdisciplinary discussion of the historical event. Therefore, the Summer School was organized in cooperation with several institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and also in collaboration with employees from different Czech universities. The topics accordingly covered the cultural-historical context of the period of Charles’ rule in Bohemia and all of the western Europe. In workshops, the attendants had the opportunity to exlore the topics of the Summer School through texts and audio-visual materials in order to familiarize with cultural, political and artistic environment of the 14th century.
