We have investigated distribution pattern of stinging nettle (Urtica dioica agg.) cytotypes in Europe. Prevailing tetraploid cytotype was found and diploids were confined to somehow relict places (without immense anthropogenic impact). The genome size differentiation was tiny, but significant in almost all involved taxa.
