Waste materials with a protein basis with fat, consisting mainly of keratin and/or collagen and triglycerides of fatty acids were treated. Hydrolysate solution can be used as a nutritional ingredient and stimulant for toppings of plants, possibly as a component to cosmetics to increase skin elasticity and/or moisturizing. The effect of basic parameters of the hydrolysis process (reaction time, temperature, pressure, atmosphere, acidity etc.) on hydrolysate composition was investigated in order to scale-up the process technology.
