Ačkoli jazyk této slavné Dykovy novely není tak archaický jako jazyka o generaci staršího Jakuba Arbesa, i on vykazuje některé typické archaické rysy morfologie a syntaxe, včetně slovosledu, české literatury 19. století.

Although the language of this famous novella by Viktor Dyk is not as archaic as the language of a generation older Jakub Arbes is, it still shows some of the typical archaic features in morphology and syntax, including word order, of the Czech literary language of the 19. century.
