Ve své recenzi se autor podrobně zabývá konceptem postmodernismu obsaženým v knize Postmodernismus F. Jamesona. Autor reflektuje intelektuální kontext Jamesonova konceptu, relevanci kategorie totality v marxistické teorii (G. Lukács), a nakonec formuluje několik kritických poznámek o vztahu mezi postmoderní kulturou, kapitalistickou ekonomikou a sociální realitou v socialistických zemích před „annus mirabilis“ 1989.

In his review study author deals in detail with concept of postmodernism contained in Fredric Jameson’s book Postmodernism, or, the Cultural Logic of Late Capitalism [1991] (translated into Czech by Olga Sixtová and Josef Šebek). Author also reflects the intellectual context of Jameson’s concept, relevance of the category of totality in Marxist theory (G. Lukács), and finally, he formulates some critical remarks on the relationship between postmodern culture, capitalist economy and social reality in the socialist countries before “annus mirabilis” 1989.
