The paper is focused on supersonic exit flow field downstream of a prismatic blade cascade representing hub section applied at the last stage rotor of a large output steam turbine. Attention is paid to the regimes with the limit load, i.e. regimes when in the exit plane of the cascade the axial component of velocity reaches the sonic value. In such case, further expansion takes place only downstream the cascade having no effect on the cascade loading. The theoretical and numerical approaches are supported by experimental data.
