Kniha začíná historickou předmluvou a zavedením základních pojmů. Další kapitoly stručně zmiňují numerické metody, zabývají se metodami ověřování a použitelnosti matematických modelů, turbulentním prouděním vně mezní vrstvy a zejména fyzikálně známým problémem mnoha měřítek, zde z hlediska turbulence. Přílohy pak obsahují vybrané poznatky o tzv. koherentních strukturách a aspoň náčrt metod rozměrové analýzy.

The book begins with a historical foreword and the introduction of basic concepts. Following is a chapter summarizing the basics of atmospheric thermodynamics and a chapter introducing equations describing fluid flow. The next chapter modifies these equations to the flow in the boundary layer of the atmosphere, and the flow properties in the so-called rotating coordinate system, i. e. the system closely connected to the Earth's surface, are discussed in particular. Relatively broader is the chapter on turbulent flow that is characteristic of this part of the atmosphere. The next chapters deal with the actual modelling of the boundary layer of the atmosphere. It is a mathematical modeling, physical modeling, and a so-called surface layer. The following chapters briefly mention numerical methods, deal with methods of verification and usability of mathematical models, turbulent flow outside the boundary layer, and especially the physically known problem of many scales, here in terms of turbulence. The appendices contain selected knowledge of so-called coherent structures and at least an outline of methods of dimensional analysis.
