Studie se věnuje českým dramatům, které prostřednictvím motivu moru a smrti modelují obraz ohrožené společnosti a způsob její “léčby a záchrany”. Analyzuje jednotlivé hry, pracující s tímto fabulačním postupem, a současně historické a ideové rozdíly mezi tím, k čemu byl využit Jiřím Wolkerem v atmosféře po první světové válce (Hrob), Karlem Čapkem v čase ohrožení první republiky (Bílá nemoc), respektive Milošem Hlávkou a Václavem Renčem za protektorátu (Kavalír Páně, Barbora Celská). Zajímají ji tedy shody a rozdíly mezi divadelními hrami, v nichž se obdobný syžet stává výrazem autorova rozchodu s církví a náboženstvím a příklonu k socialistické vizi nové společnosti (Wolker), obrany liberární demokracie (Čapek), útoku na liberální demokracii (Hlávka) a hledání správného vztahu mezi katolickou vírou a českým lidem (Renč).

The study deals with Czech dramas through the motive of plague and death model the image of a society in danger and the way it is “treated and saved”. It analyzes the individual games working with this fabrication procedure and at the same time the historical and ideological differences between what was used by Jiří Wolker in the atmosphere after the First World War (Tomb), Karel Čapek at the time of the First Republic (White disease) or Miloš Hlávka and Václav Renč during the Protectorate (Cavalier of the Lord, Barbora Celská). She is therefore interested in consensus and differences between theatrical plays, in which a similar synthetic becomes an expression of the author's break with church and religion and a tendency towards a socialist vision of a new society (Wolker), defence of liberal democracy (Čapek), attack on liberal democracy (Hlávka). the right relationship between the Catholic faith and the Czech people (Renč).
