Coprocultures are larvoscopic techniques used to develop third stage (L3) larvae from otherwise undistinguishable eggs of nematodes, especially those of strongylids and Strongyloides. Cultured larvae can be morphologically determined usually
up to the genus level. To develop the L3 larvae, several approaches are used, namely (i) basic coproculture method, (ii) charcoal culture procedure, (iii) modified Harada-Mori filter paper culture (most commonly used), (iv) agar plate coproculture, and (v) Baermann procedure.
