Czechoslovak National Council (ČSNRB) was significant and specific scientific institution in the interwar Czechoslovakia. In the first place was closely connected with the Czechoslovak science efforts of integration in the international framework, but also with the emancipation to German science. At the same time its to be treated as a “window” of Republic, which would show that the Czechoslovak science can succeed and bear comparison in international scientific field. The ČSNRB developed his own scientific work by individual departments and committees, but worked as an intermediary in foreign relations for scientists and scientific institutions. Her members were active participants and in many cases initiators of international projects. It’s activities was finished in the general reorganization of Czechoslovak science in 1952/1953. In spite of that Czechoslovak international scientific contacts were also provided outside ČSNRB autonomously, its importance for czechoslovak science is indisputable. ČSNRB provided the operating framework for the integration of czechoslovak science into the World and the European context. This paper applies to complicated origin of this institutions and to efforts to reform and internationalization of Czech science, especially of technical and natural sciences.
