The results obtained by investigation of the richly decorated Bohemian medieval altarpiece depicting the legend of St Catherine of Alexandria situated in Chrudim, Eastern Bohemia, were presented. The research focused on decorative techniques, decorative schemes, prints of used moulds, quality of execution, chemical composition of filler material, production of the tin relief, and its application onto the paint surface. Different mostly non-invasive methods were introduced.
