The invention provides a method of preparation of a polymeric material, wherein at least one cyclic monomer is mixed with a hydrated double-layered hydroxide having a structure of [M2+1-xM3+x(OH)2(Am-)x/m], where Am- is an m-valent anion, M2+ is a divalent metal cation and M3+ is a trivalent metal cation, x is in the range of 0.20 <x <0.33, surface-modified by an ionic liquid, containing a phosphonium cation, in an amount of 0.1 to 9% by weight, based on the weight of the hydrated double-layered hydroxide, in a weight ratio of the cyclic monomer to the surface-modified double-layered hydroxide from 100/1 to 10/1, and the resulting suspension is subjected to electromagnetic radiation at a frequency from 915 to 2,450 MHz to a temperature from 150 to 250°C, preferably for 3 to 120 minutes.
