Kritickým parametrem pro úspěšnou rekonstrukci mechanismu seismického jevu je geometrie monitorování – pravidelnost a hustota
rozložení stanic kolem ohniska co do azimutů i vzdáleností.
přijatelných mechanismů a mechanismů zakázaných.
Geometry of the monitoring – the regularity and density of the station distribution around the focus concerning both the azimuth and
the distance – is the crucial factor of the success in the reconstruction of the mechanism of a seismic source. The data available – records
from the nearby stations of the regional seismic networks – do not satisfy this criterion. Standard approach to solving the inverse task,
providing us with the mechanism best fitting the observed data, is not much helpful here, because the solution is biased largely. Thus,
instead of presenting the single best solution, it is reasonable to map a class of acceptable mechanisms on one hand, and the forbidden
ones on the other. We have done this assuming the criterion of matching the observed and predicted polarities and we have demonstrated
that the mechanisms related to local faults oriented W-E do not fit. On the other hand, the class of the acceptable mechanisms suggests the
Hlučín earthquake to be associated with faults along the NW-SE and NE-SW directions, i.e. related to the Sudety tectonics.
