    During the finite element modeling of wave propagation in solids, both the spatial and temporal discretization lead to dispersion errors. These
    errors introduce the dependency of the phase velocity of propagated wave on its frequency. For the implicite time integration scheme, particularly
    the Newmark method, an optimal time step size is derived.
