Texty obsažené v této knize vznikaly v průběhu posledních dvaceti let a až na výjimky byly publikovány v časopisech (Respekt, Svět a divadlo) či v novinách (A2 kulturní týdeník, Divadelní noviny, Lidové noviny, Literární noviny, Mladá fronta dnes), jsou tedy (zvláště články staršího data) obtížně dostupné. Autorka v nich na základě svého odborného zájmu mapuje osudy německojazyčných divadelních her i literárních textů v českém prostředí v tomto období. Jejich knižní uspořádání umožní čtenářům komplexní pohled na danou problematiku, díky rejstříku se budou moci věnovat i výběrově jen některým autorům, dílům, divadelním tvůrcům či souborům. Texty řadíme do čtyř částí, zaměřených na české inscenace německojazyčných her, na Pražský divadelní festival německého jazyka, na rakouské inscenace především současné dramatiky a eseje o literárních dílech autorů německojazyčného prostoru. V rámci jednotlivých oddílů řadíme texty chronologicky (podle data zveřejnění), protože tak si čtenář nejsnáze utvoří představu o vývoji daného fenoménu v českém a rakouském kulturním kontextu. Jen v oddíle esejů o literatuře je chronologické řazení dáno datem narození jednotlivých tvůrců a dále dobou jejich vstupu do českého knižního kontextu.

The articles contained in this book, which were written over the past twenty years, have so far only been published (with some exceptions) in magazines (Respekt, Svět a divadlo) or newspapers (A2 kulturní týdeník, Divadelní noviny, Lidové noviny, Literární noviny, Mladá fronta dnes) and are therefore not easily obtainable (especially the earlier ones). The author, drawing from her professional interests, tells the life story of German-language plays (and productions thereof) in a Czech context during the aforementioned period. This comprehensive collection of articles offers the reader a complex view of the topic, and the index allows them to focus on a specific selection of authors, plays or theater companies. The text is divided into four parts, each of which deals with a different topic: Czech productions of German-language plays, the Prague festival of the German language, Austrian productions of primarily contemporary plays, and essays on literary works by German speaking authors. The articles within each section are ordered chronologically, allowing the reader to observe in retrospect the evolution of a given cultural phenomenon in a Czech and Austrian context - the exception being the last section, which instead orders the articles by the date of birth of the author whom the essay concerns as well as the period in which the author entered the Czech literary context.
