X-ray imaging of soft biological materials is challenging not only because of their very low attenuation for X-rays but also significant harm caused by sample drying coupled with applied dose.
To reduce this effect micro-containers were designed and manufactured to simulate ambient physiological conditions during imaging procedure. Combination of the low attenuation plastic material together with container shell of 50 μmm prepared by high-resolution additive manufacturing
allows to obtain sets of volumetric data with sub-micron resolution.
