This international and interdisciplinary project focuses on the transcultural interpretation of three important chronicles from the turn of the 12th century, of texts collating the oldest histories of the nations of Central and East Central Europe and influencing the interpretations of the shared past. The conference brings contributions to the genesis and interpretation of the mentioned works and to their influence on the historiography of the states and nations concerned, but also broader comparative studies focussing on historical tradition and politics and extending into literature, art, cultural history, or cultural anthropology.
