Publikace shrnuje výsledky a perspektivy výzkumné činnosti Českého historického ústavu v Římě a dalších českých vědců a institucí, bádajících v italských archivech a knihovnách. Hodnotí přínos českého výzkumu (zvláště v období 1994-2018) pro mezinárodní interpretaci pozdně středověkých, raně novověkých, moderních a soudobých dějin střední Evropy, Itálie a papežství.

The publication summarises the results and perspectives of the research work of the Czech Historical Institute in Rome and other Czech scholars and institutions which are active in Italian archives and libraries. It evaluates the contribution of the Czech research (especially in the period 1994-2018) to the international interpretation of the late medieval, early modern, modern and contemporary history of Central Europe, Italy and the Papacy.
