We investigated the effect of Co and Cu alloying on the magnetic properties of novel Ni-Mn-Ga-Co-Cu magnetic shape memory alloys. The alloying results in slight deterioration of magnetic properties, which is, however, well compensated by drastically improved mobility of twin boundaries. As a result a magnetic shape memory effect of 9% is observed in the new alloys.
