Akademické školení a jeho vynikající výsledky daly Tkadlíkovi všechny předpoklady, aby se stal náboženským a historickým malířem. Koncept historické malby se však v dané době znejasňoval a Tkadlík na tento fakt dokázal různými způsoby reagovat.
Academic studies and excellent results predestined Tkadlík for the position of a painter of religious and historical subjects. The concept of cllassical history painting was nevertheless changing and Tkadlík was able to adopt himself to the fact.
