Slušnost je nárazník, který tlumí konflikty zákonitě vznikající mezi lidmi i mezi společnostmi, a to i demokratickými. Téma této konference – Slušný člověk, slušnější svět – se skutečně jeví nejen jako idealistická proklamace, ale i jako vědecky podložený výrok. Slušnost je jedním ze základních prvků demokratického ducha.
Civility is a buffer which softens conflicts that are inevitable both among individuals and societies (including democratic ones). The theme of the conference – Decent Man, More Decent World – appears to be not just a mere ideological proclamation but a statement scientifically based. Civility and decency belong, by definition, among the basic components of democratic spirit.
