An improved method for the detection of arsenic using a specially adapted setup for OES was presented. By comparing the temporal and spatial evolution of the arsenic emission signal with the emission of the dissociation of molecular hydrogen it was shown that produced hydrogen radicals play a major role in the atomization of arsine.
