Usage of synthetic tissues in regenerative medicine is a promising way for the treatment of human skeletal system. Biomechanical characterisation of this artificial tissues is one of the main goal of newly established Competence Centre for Mechanobiology. This knowledge is essential for assessment of biocompatibility and bone-integration characteristics of proposed structure intended to be used as a bone scaffold. Innovative formulas for bone scaffold are developed to meet the requirements for primal stability and for diffusion of nutrients and oxygen.
