In the context of recent discussions on early modern human capacities of time-awareness, space-awareness, planning and organized hunting, this paper presents three complex Gravettian engravings on mammoth tusks or ivory plaques from the sites of Pavlov and Předmostí in central Europe and suggests their possible interpretations as «maps» and/or «hunting plans».
