Konferenční panel byl věnován podobám a funkcím historické reflexe v období pozdní moderny, kdy dochází k zásadním změnám ve společenském i individuálním užívání dějin a k výrazné k pluralizaci i individudalizaci historických diskursů. Na jedné straně dochází k částečné marginalizaci akademické historiografie a také didaktiky dějin, vystavených ekonomistické ideologii “produktivity”, na druhé straně nelze přehlédnout sílící “všudypřítomnost” historie v nejrůznějších segmentech kultury. Těmto segmentům se věnovaly jednotlivé příspěvky panelu. Vedle identitotvorné funkce dějin tematizovaly zejm. konzumní a lúdické složky historického diskursu.

The conference panel was dedicated to functions of history in the Late Modern Era, when there are fundamental changes in the social and individual use of history, and the significant pluralization and individualization of the historical discourses. On the one hand, there is a partial marginalization of academic historiography and didactics of history, exposed to the economic ideology of “productivity”, on the other hand, the growing “ubiquity” of history in the various segments of culture can´t be overlooked. In addition to the identifying function of history, the contributions of the panel thematicised various consumer and ludic components of historical discourse.
