17. a 18. století bývá označováno za věk rozumu, nicméně bližší přihlédnutí ukazuje, že shoda ohledně povahy rozumu byla překvapivě malá. Cílem konference bylo na tyto spory upozornit, a povzbudit tak domácí debatu k osvícenství a racionalitě.
The 17th and the 18th century are called “the age of reason”, however the closer look reveals little agreement on the nature of reason itself. The aim of the conference was to stimulate the debate on enlightenment and rationality by pinpointing these controversies.
