    The aim is to analyze and evaluate tourism practices in selected model areas (Nature park Shumensko plato (Bulgaria) and PLA Moravský kras (Czech Republic)) through the specifics of vulnerable karst areas in regard to sustainable development and sustainable tourism in these territories. The ensuring comparative assessment of tourism practices between the two model areas are made in three aspects: evaluation through the tourism resource; evaluation from socio-economic and conservation aspects; evaluation in terms of place and role of park administrations in the development of sustainable tourism in protected karst territories (PKT). In conclusion will be defined and displayed similarities and differences between the two model area and best practices.
