    Intercalates of five model NLO-active molecules having pyridine-4-yl moieties into three different layered phosphates and phosphonates (α-Zr(HPO4)2·H2O, γ-Ti(HPO4)2·2H2O and zirconium sulfophenylphosphonate) were prepared and characterized. The influence of the number of protonable atoms in the molecule and its shape on the amount of the guest molecules intercalated, their arrangement and especially on optical properties of the intercalates is discussed.
