Příspěvek pojednává o náboženském přesvědčení dvou moravských nekatolických šlechticů, Zdeňka Brtnického z Valdštejna a Ladislava Velena ze Žerotína, a jeho formování během mládí obou aristokratů. Hlavními použitými zdroji jsou Valdštejnův deník z let 1597 - 1603 a Žerotínovo Itinerarium, které dosud byly vytěženy jen částečně. Oba šlechtici se jeví jako hluboce věřící, avšak u Valdštejna lze usuzovat na poměrně velkou náboženskou toleranci ve srovnání s dosti nesmiřitelným Žerotínem.

The article deals with the religiousness of two Moravian non-Catholic noblemen, Zdeněk Brtnický of Waldstein and Ladislav Velen of Žerotín, and with its formation during the youth of the both aristocrats. The main sources, that have been used, are Waldsteins Diarium from the years 1597 - 1603 and Žerotíns Itinerarium, neither of which has attracted much research attention so far. Both nobles are revealed as deeply religious men, however, we can consider Waldstein rather tolerant unlike greatly implacable Žerotín.
