The paper presets results of estimation of biodiversity value as ecosystem service in study area Olomouc Archdiocese territory. The applied method combines analyses of data from a detailed habitat mapping used for establishing the Natura 2000 network in the Czech Republic with results of a GIS analysis of financial values of habitat biodiversity, classified by the BVM method. The BVM method compares individual habitat types according to eight criteria: phylogenetic maturity of plant communities, naturalness, species diversity, structural diversity, and habitat rarity, rarity of species in the habitat, vulnerability, and threat to habitat quality.
