Myší linie tvořící SGIP1 pod vlastní interní kontrolou bude v případě průkazu dalších testů vhodným
kandidátem pro studium metabolických poruch způsobených změnou životního stylu, především nedostatkem pohybu a nadměrným přísunem potravy. Tato situace je dle odhadů obezitologů dominantní příčinou současného nadměrného výskytu této civilizační choroby a overexprese SGIP1 u zvířecích modelů reflektuje do značné miry tuto situaci.
Most of the current problems with obesity and growing number of Diabetes Mellitus type 2 patients arise as a consequence of the life style. Animal modelthat reflects such situation, lean in its biotope, obese in cages resembles well this type of disorder and might thus serves as an excellent model in prediction of treatment possibilities and prevention cure.
