In this study, results of the joint collaboration between the Ruhr-University Bochum, the Technische Universität Dresden, and the Institute of Thermomechanics of the CAS on the modeling of thermophysical properties and phase equilibria of aqueous systems forming solid phases, i.e. gas hydrates and ices, are presented. The collaboration was originally established thanks to IAPWS in 2010 (http://www.iapws.org/). New results for the modeling of phase equilibria with gas hydrates relevant especially for CCS (carbon capture and storage) technologies are introduced. Newly developed phase equilibria algorithms are capable to model up to four various phases in ternary mixtures with water. Preliminary results for the mixed hydrates of carbon dioxide and methane are introduced.
