Vztah k Mistru Janu Husovi provázel Komenského celým jeho životem, zmínky o Janu Husovi najdeme v řadě Komenského spisů ze všech období jeho literární činnosti. V Husovi viděl Komenský nejdůslednějšího reformátora křesťanského života, vyzdvihoval jeho zbožnost a horlivost; Jednotu bratrskou pokládal za skutečnou dědičku Husova odkazu. Hus mu byl zejména autoritou morální.

Throughout his life, Comenius had a strong affinity to Jan Hus (John Huss). References to Hus can be found in a number of Comenius' writings from all periods of his literary activity. Comenius perceived Jan Hus as the most thorough of Christian reformers, stressed his piety and zeal, and considers the Unity of the Brethren the true heir to Hus' legacy. For Comenius, Hus was above all a moral authority.
