Tato kapitola je součástí obsáhlé monografie zahrnující výsledky českých vědeckých týmů v Africe. Zabývá se rozložením genetické variability lidských populací na africkém kontinentě, především v jeho subsaharské části. Ukazuje, že genetická variabilita je výsledkem celé řady demografických událostí, k nimž došlo v dávné i nedávné minulosti. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována migracím, k nimž došlo v souvislosti s rozvojem zemědělských technologií a genetickým adaptacím v souvislosti s konzumací potravin z domestikovaných rostlin a živočichů.

This chapter is part of an extensive monograph covering the results of Czech scientific teams in Africa. It deals with distribution of genetic diversity of human populations on the African continent, especially in the sub-Saharan regions. It shows that genetic variability is the result of several demographic events that occurred in the distant and recent past. Special attention is paid to migrations that occurred in connection with the development of agricultural technologies and genetic adaptations in relation to the consumption of food gained from domesticated plants and animals.
