Příspěvek v popularizační formě shrnuje výzkum prostorové struktury a dynamiky přirozeného zmlazení v horském smrkovém lese po disturbanci. Přirozené zmlazení vytváří nahloučené skupiny v okolí dospělých jedinců smrku. Toto prostorové uspořádání bylo popsáno za pomoci terénního mapování a pokročilých statistických metod. Dále byl zjištěn významný podíl zmlazení, které se uchytilo v průběhu disturbance. Dosud se ovšem předpokládalo, že zásadní roli hraje pouze zmlazení dobře etablované již před disturbancí. To má zásadní dopady i pro management lesa.

This contribution popularize results of our research on spatial pattern and dynamics of natural regeneration in mountain spruce forests after disturbance. Natural regeneration forms clusters around adult spruce trees. Such a pattern was described by exact field measurement and advance spatial statistics. Further we revealed the high importance of disturbance-related regeneration, though the advance (pre-disturbance) regeneration was so far considered as only crucial cohort for forest regeneration after disturbance. Both findings have impact on forest management.
