Dílo spisovatelky a literární teoretičky Daniely Hodrové generuje celý okruh námětů, jež podněcují k rozvíjení dalších úvah nejen její interprety, ale i další literární teoretiky i znalce jiných literatur. Publikace proto kombinuje trojí přístup: zaprvé tyto problémy pojednává tak, jak vyvstávají v její vlastní umělecké tvorbě, dále v tvorbě spřízněných autorů, ať už domácích nebo zahraničních, popřípadě v perspektivě jednotlivých literárněvědných disciplín, k nimž dosud přispěla. Aspekty literárního psaní (vztah k jazyku a promluvě, tělesnost a rodový charakter psaní) a zvláště pak románu (jeho diskursivita a intertextualita, sebereflexivnost a metafikčnost, proměnlivost pojetí postavy a žánrových parametrů, čas a prostor fikčního světa a vyprávění) jsou tu proto podány jak formou interpretace či srovnávací interpretační studie, tak i teoretického pojednání.

The oeuvre of the novelist and literary theoretician Daniela Hodrová generates a whole range of themes providing incentives for further interpretations of her works, but also for other theoreticians and experts in other literatures. Thus, the present publication combines three approaches: firstly, treating these topics as they result from her own fiction, second, observing parallels in the works of akin writers, both Czech and other, as well as from the point of view of individual disciplines of literary criticism, to which Hodrová has contributed. Aspects of literary writing (such as its relation to language and utterance, the physical experience and gender aspects of the process of writing) and aspects of the novel in particular (its discoursivity and intertextuality, self-consciousness and metafictionality, the ever changing concepts of fictional characters and parametres of the genre, spatiotemporality of the fictional world and narration) are presented both by interpreting an individual work or by a comparative interpretation, as well as a theoretical explication.
