Soubor textů, které se v rámci 600. výročí upálení Jana Husa v Kostnici zaměřují na ohlas jeho učení a celého husitského hnutí v kultuře 15. věku, ale i následujících staletí, přináší interdisciplinární přesahy a kombinuje medievistická témata se studiem druhého života Jana Husa a jeho následovníků. Předložené studie ukazují, že i přes devastační účinek husitských válek se stalo Husovo učení důležitým inspiračním zdrojem pro nově se formující reformační kulturu nejen českých zemí a poskytlo originální podněty pro literaturu či výtvarné umění budoucích dob, zejména v rámci dlouhodobého procesu konstrukce a emancipace českého národa.

This collection of texts focusing on the response to Jan Hus's teachings on the 600th anniversary of his burning at the stake in Konstanz and the entire Hussite movement in the culture of the 15th and subsequent centuries, involves interdisciplinary overlapping and combines medievalist topics with a study of Jan Hus's followers and second life. The present study demonstrates that in spite of the devastating effects of the Hussite wars, Hus's teachings are an important source of inspiration for the newly developing Reformation culture in the Czech lands and elsewhere, providing original stimuli for subsequent literature and art, particularly as part of the process of the long-term construction and emancipation of the Czech nation.
