The study evaluates abundance changes of a cold-adapted butterfly Erebia epiphron during years 1990-2010. The study is based on transect monitoring data from middle high mountains of temperate latitudes, Krkonose Mts., Czech Republic. Butterfly numbers recorded per transect walk decreased between the 1990s and the 2010s, but relative population abundances remained unchanged. The possible explanation is desynchonization of development of annual cohorts.
