Krajina je středem zájmu mnoha oborů lidské činnosti, proto i její definice není jednotná a každý obor k ní přistupuje z vlastního úhlu pohledu, ve kterém zohledňuje svá odborná specifika. Z tohoto důvodu je jiné pojetí krajiny ve výtvarném umění a jiné ve společenských a jiné v přírodních vědách. Společným, integrujícím prvkem těchto přístupů je člověk a lidská společnost a také snaha o systémový a holistický přístup ke krajině.

The landscape is the focus of many fields of human activity, therefore its definition is not uniform, and each discipline approaches it from their own perspective, which takes into account their professional specifics. For this reason, it is a different concept of the landscape in the visual arts and the other in social and other natural sciences. Common, integrating element m these approaches is humans and human society and also an effort to systemic and holistic approach to landscape.
