Kniha prezentuje deskripce, analýzy a interpretace sociálních identit, teritoriálních identit, národní identity, představ o Evropské unii a postojů k imigraci v České republice v komparativní perspektivě. Výsledky prezentovaných analýz jsou založeny nejen na unikátních datech Sociologického ústavu AVCR a Psychologického ústavu AV ČR, ale také na analýzách mezinárodních datových souborů z výzkumných šetření International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), European Values Study (EVS), European Social Survey (ESS), a Eurobarometer.

The book presents descriptions, analyses, and interpretations of social identities, territorial identities, national identity, images of European Union, and attitudes towards immigration in the Czech Republic in comparative perspective. Results of the analyses presented in chapters are based not only on unique Czech data collected by the Institute of Sociology CAS and Institute of Psychology CAS, but mainly on the analyses of the international data sets from the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), European Values Study (EVS), European Social Survey (ESS), and the Eurobarometer.
