Kapitola sleduje na příkladu severního portálu Panny Marie Týnské na Starém Městě pražském problém vztahů mezi ornamentikou architektonického sochařství a knižní malbou (v Čechách i v Evropě), částečně i v kontextu ostatních druhů umění, a to z hlediska vzniku "českých typů akantů" v 1. a 2. třetině 14. století. Dále se věnuje proměnám ornamentiky v době kolem r. 1400 a také v souvislosti se vznikem pozdně gotického repertoáru 15. století.

Chapter follows the example of the northern portal of Our Lady of Tyn in Prague Old Town the problem of relations between the ornamentation of architectural sculpture and book painting (at home and in Europe), partly in the context of other types of art, from the point of origin, "Bohemian types acanthus" in first and the second third of the 14th century. It also discusses the changes of ornamentation around the time of the year 1400 also linked to the emergence of a late Gothic 15th-century repertoire.
