    Previously, the wire plasma dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) actuator was developed and it was shown that continuous ionic wind of powerful velocities can be generated in steady regime or series of vortices in unsteady regime. These vortex structures can be used for control of boundary layer (e.g. in narrow channel or around airfoil). This article is devoted to case of spanwise orientation, i.e. the ionic plasma wind occurs perpendicularly to the flow inside the channel and affects the free developed boundary layer. The complex flow structures behind actuator are studied experimentally using PIV measurement in longitudinal plane.
