In this work we present our recent progress in combination of diamond thin films with grazing angle reflectance (GAR) and ATR optical elements. The Au mirrors were used as GAR elements and ATR prisms were fabricated from silicon. Prior the diamond growth in microwave plasma reactor, the GAR or ATR elements were seeded with diamond nanoparticles in solution. As analyte we used 15% fetal bovine serum (FBS) solution (PAA) in McCoy's 5A medium. Before protein application from a 200 μl droplet of FBS solution, the diamond coated GAR or ATR elements were oxidized in oxygen plasma to achieve hydrophilic surface (contact angle <10°).
