Kapitola shrnuje výsledky výzkumu přesnosti národních autostereotypů (posuzování typických příslušníků vlastního národa) a heterostereotypů (posuzování typických představitelů jiných národů) v České republice, Německu, Rakousku, Polsku a na Slovensku. Stereotypy reprezentované vlastnostmi obsaženými v pětifaktorovém modelu byly porovnány navzájem a také s tím, jak sami sebe posuzují nebo jsou jinými posuzováni lidé ve zmíněných pěti zemích. Zjistily jsme, že posouzení stereotypů je konzistentní v čase a napříč různými skupinami posuzovatelů . Respondenti z různých zemí se shodovali v percepci národních stereotypů sousedních zemí, nejvíce při posuzování typického Němce. Národní autostereotypy nekorespondovaly s heterosterostereotypy s výjimkou posouzení typického Němce. Autostereotyp korespondoval s posouzením reálných lidí pouze v Polsku a České republice, kdežto heterostereotypy s vlastnostmi reálných lidí nekorespondovaly v žádné ze sledovaných zemí.

The chapter introduces research on accuracy of national autostereotypes (ratings of a typical own country representative) and heterostereotypes (ratings of a typical representative of other countries) in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Poland, and Slovakia. Stereotypes represented by personality characteristics included in the five factor model were compared together and with self- and peer-ratings of real people from the five countries. The comparison of national stereotypes showed high temporal stability and consistency across different groups of raters. Participants from different countries agreed in their perception of national heterostereotypes, particularly of a typical German. National autostereotypes did not correspond to heterostereotypes with the exception of Germany. While national autostereotype agreed with ratings of real people in Poland and the Czech Republic, national heterostereotypes did not agree with real people ratings in any of the studied countries.
